After six months of construction, the new police logistics hub in the Northern Netherlands has reached its highest point — a perfect moment for a celebratory barbecue with the client. Both the Northern Netherlands Police and BAM expressed their appreciation for the team’s achievement.
‘We’re right on schedule, and that’s entirely thanks to the project team who work hard here every day to reach milestones like this. It’s important to take a moment to recognise that — in this case with good food and a chance to come together. We really appreciate the police organising this for us’, said John Ottens, Director of BAM Bouw en Techniek.
The project has also achieved a successful outcome with the implementation of a pilot using sustainably produced EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) steel. One third of the steel used was fully recycled and re-melted in an electric furnace, resulting in a 32% reduction in CO₂ emissions from steel usage. A significant step forward in making the construction process more sustainable.
