Blairgowrie Recreation Centre, a new, cutting-edge leisure centre, built to Passivhaus standards, officially opened its doors to the public on Friday (29 August), delivering vastly improved leisure facilities for Perthshire and showcasing BAM's commitment to connecting people and communities.
The centre features a 25-metre swimming pool, sports halls, a fitness suite, a dance studio, changing facilities, offices, and a physical education classroom. The swimming pool also includes a movable floor, allowing it to be divided into two distinct sections with varying depths.
Councillor Grant Laing, leader of Perth and Kinross Council, said:
‘This is a significant day for the residents of Blairgowrie and the wider Eastern Perthshire area. The new Blairgowrie Recreation Centre offers state-of-the-art facilities for the community and, of course, for the pupils at Blairgowrie High School.’
