Investment of €240 million
's-Hertogenbosch – Enexis and BAM Energy & Water have signed a 12-year agreement worth approximately €240 million for the renewal and reinforcement of the energy supply in North Brabant. Earlier this week, BAM concluded a similar agreement with Enexis and Waterleiding Maatschappij Limburg (WML) worth approximately €600 million. This investment in the electricity grid is necessary to future-proof the province, given the growing energy needs of households, businesses and social institutions. BAM will start implementation at the end of 2025.
As a key player in accelerating the energy transition, BAM is contributing its expertise and innovative strength to realise this shared ambition. As part of its ‘Building a sustainable tomorrow’ strategy, BAM is strongly committed to sustainable infrastructure and innovative solutions. BAM focuses on realising energy-efficient buildings, facilitating renewable energy projects and optimising energy supply networks.
"Accelerating the energy transition requires cooperation, vision and decisiveness," says Rolf te Velde, CEO of BAM Energy & Water. "Through this long-term partnership, we are building robust and sustainable infrastructure that will enable North Brabant to realise its social and economic ambitions. BAM is proud to be able to contribute to this in our leading role."
BAM invests in local employment to strengthen its operational capacity in the long term, working closely with local parties to execute the contract. In addition, its vocational school, GO Infra, plays a central role. This school was set up specifically to train new engineers and equip them with the technical skills required to work on underground energy infrastructure. By investing in training and development, BAM is contributing to a future-proof labour market in North Brabant.
