BAM reinforces quay for BUSS in Eemshaven in the North of Holland

On behalf of BUSS, we are reinforcing approximately 100 metres of quay in the Eemshaven. BUSS is a company that temporarily stores offshore wind turbine components before transporting them to their final destination. As these components are becoming increasingly heavy, more powerful cranes are needed – and therefore a stronger quay to enable safe operations. Our work began at the end of May 2025 and is expected to be completed in the final quarter of 2025.

Sustainable choices

Sustainability plays a key role in this project. Together with BUSS, we are exploring which sustainable choices best suit this assignment. For example, we are considering the use of more sustainable GROENR Concrete, which has a lower CO₂ footprint, and limiting transport movements through smart logistics. These measures help to reduce environmental impact and contribute to a future-proof quay. Once the foundation design is finalised, we will further elaborate the sustainability measures.
