BAM and Vincio Wonen sign agreement to make 32 social housing units in Heerlen (Southern Netherlands) more sustainable

BAM Wonen and Vincio Wonen have signed an agreement for the sustainability upgrade and major maintenance of 32 rental homes in Heerlen (Southern Netherlands). The sustainability improvements will make the homes not only more energy efficient, but also more comfortable and healthier for the residents. The energy label will rise from D, E or F to label A. The CO₂ savings will amount to approximately 44,000 kg per year. The energy efficiency measures and major maintenance of the 32 homes include roof insulation – including the installation of new roof tiles – the installation of a CO₂-controlled mechanical ventilation system, replacement of the old window frames with new uPVC ones, and cavity wall insulation. We will start work in September.

The project is part of a large-scale restructuring involving a total of 196 homes in Heerlen. In 2024, BAM Wonen has already successfully completed the sustainability upgrade of 24 homes, and is set to finalise work on another 50 homes this summer.
