Last week, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister James Browne visited the construction site of the Narrow Water Bridge in Ireland, a landmark project under the Shared Island Fund. Construction has been in full swing since its launch in June 2024, with impressive engineering work on the southern bank.
The 195-metre-long cable-stayed bridge connects County Louth with County Down and accommodates cars, cyclists and pedestrians. A moveable bridge section will ensure passage for shipping. The bridge is more than infrastructure: it is a symbol of connection, stimulating tourism, sustainable mobility and economic growth in the border region. BAM plays a key role in this with a focus on social value and sustainable development.
