BAM renovates entrance to Amsterdam Central Station: future-proof and sustainable

In partnership with ProRail, we have modernised the entrance of Amsterdam Central Station. We created more space and light to better accommodate the flow of passengers today and tomorrow.

Sustainable and circular construction

  • We used electric construction equipment to minimise emissions on the construction site.
  • Construction waste and materials were transported by rail, avoiding truck traffic through the city centre.
  • Preservation of monumental elements and reuse of existing structures contributes to our circular principles.

The capacity of the entrance was increased by 50% and made this location more accessible with lifts, escalators, and wider passages. By doing so, we contribute to a safer, more inclusive, and future-oriented public transport system in whichthe passenger experience is central.
