BAM Begins Construction of 76 Flow Homes at Wickevoort Estate in Cruquius

Area developer AM, BAM Wonen, and future residents have jointly celebrated the start of construction of 76 sustainable Flow homes - BAM’s innovative timber housing concept - at Wickevoort Estate in Cruquius. The festive launch marks the beginning of the new residential areas Eastern Lanen and Green Lanen, a verdant, future-proof neighbourhood where nature, community, innovation, and comfort come together.

Living amidst nature

The development will feature 56 Courtyard Houses in Green Lanen and 20 Lanen Houses in Eastern Lanen. These homes are designed with nature in mind, promoting biodiversity and quality of life - from green pergolas to integrated nesting boxes built into the façades. This creates a seamless transition between living and nature. The architecture of Eastern Lanen is designed by Olaf Gipser Architects, while Green Lanen is the work of MARCEL LOK_ARCHITECT bv.

Building faster, cleaner and smarter with Flow

The homes are being constructed using Flow, BAM’s modular housing concept. This innovative method, largely manufactured in a factory and assembled on-site, is rapidly gaining popularity in the Netherlands, with BAM as one of the pioneers. Flow homes are predominantly factory-produced and then installed on location, resulting in a construction time that is on average 75% faster than traditional methods and significantly reduces CO₂ emissions.

Constructed from lightweight materials such as timber, these homes are demountable, energy-efficient, and circular by design. Flow combines speed, quality, and sustainability with affordability, making future-proof living accessible to more people. With the construction of these Flow homes, AM and BAM Wonen take another step towards sustainable, affordable, and forward-looking housing.
