After sixteen intensive days, work on the temporary railway line and station in Vught has been completed, and the temporary track was officially brought into use on Monday, 20 October. During this period, we prepared the temporary railway line located west of the existing track. This allows train services to continue running while construction progresses on the new sunken railway section.
Over the course of the 16 days, we installed:
BAM Infra Nederland carried out the construction of the temporary track to ensure uninterrupted train traffic during the development of the sunken railway section. This new infrastructure is essential to improve liveability and safety, and to increase future rail capacity.
In addition, the track towards Den Bosch was modified, a relay house and substation were built, and a crossover was installed on the line towards Tilburg. The temporary station, located on the Bestevaer industrial estate, will remain operational until the end of 2029.
