Water Authority Aa and Maas selects BAM, Van den Herik and FL BV for Cuijk–Ravenstein dyke improvement

Water Authority Aa and Maas has awarded the construction team contract for the Cuijk–Ravenstein dyke improvement to the consortium Dijkgenoten, comprising BAM Infra Nederland, Van den Herik and FL BV. Over the coming years, the water authority and Dijkgenoten will join forces to carry out works on the 21-kilometre-long dyke along the River Meuse between Cuijk and Ravenstein in the Netherlands. Together, they are committed to delivering a safe and future-proof dyke that integrates well with the surrounding landscape and environment.

Construction team contract

The project involves the improvement of approximately 21 kilometres of primary flood defence on the Brabant side of the River Meuse, as part of the national Flood Protection Programme (HWBP). The works include strengthening the dyke and the restoration of heritage structures such as the quay wall in Grave.

Collaboration, safety and sustainability are central to the project. Wherever possible, materials from the project will be reused, and the dyke improvement will be carried out largely emission-free.
