Construction begins on 53 social rental apartments at Sint Jozefpark in Deurne (in the Netherlands)

Housing association Bergopwaarts and construction partner BAM Wonen are starting on the development of 53 social rental apartments at Sint Jozefpark in Deurne. This marks an important step in increasing the availability of affordable rental housing in the region.

The apartments are intended for single-person and two-person households and are part of the regional housing collaboration WoonST. The building will be located at the corner of Sint Jozefpark and Beukenstraat, on the site of the former playground.

Sustainable, nature-inclusive and future-proof

The apartment building will consist of four residential floors with comfortable, energy-efficient homes of approximately 52 m². Each apartment will feature a spacious balcony and a private storage unit on the ground floor. In addition to a focus on a healthy indoor climate, sustainability is a key principle. Bird nesting boxes will be installed, green façades will be added, and green roofs will be created to enhance biodiversity in the neighbourhood.
