BAM’s annual report nominated for FD Henri Sijthoff Prize 2023

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 3 October 2023 – The annual report of Royal BAM Group nv for the 2022 financial year has been nominated for the FD Henri Sijthoff Prize 2023. In the category of small and midcap funds, BAM’s annual report competes against the annual reports of PostNL and technology company TKH Group. Nominated in the AEX category are Aegon, ASML and KPN.

The FD Henri Sijthoff Prize is an annual prize from business newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad (‘FD’) for companies that distinguish themselves in their financial reporting. In this way they give their stakeholders insight into their strategy, social role and impact.

CFO Frans den Houter: 'We are proud that our annual report has been nominated for the FD Henri Sijthoff Prize. This is recognition of our work to inform our stakeholders in a transparent and understandable way about our financial performance, our progress on sustainability and social issues, and our strategy. BAM considers the annual report as an important means of communication with all our stakeholders, and we are continuously looking for ways to make it even better.'

On Thursday 2 November 2023, Het Financieele Dagblad will award the prestigious FD Henri Sijthoff Prize for the seventieth time.

The Sijthoff Prize jury consists of chairman Peter Sampers, who is professor of financial accounting at Maastricht University, macroeconomist Jack Julicher and non-excutive director Margot Scheltema. The jury believes that annual reports, websites and quarterly reports should not only be written for investors and financial analysts. 'Clients, suppliers, lenders, (potential) employees and local residents – and the list is probably not yet complete – should also know what the considerations are that the company has made.'
