Bunnik, the Netherlands, 5 November 2020 – Rijkswaterstaat Oost-Nederland has awarded the contract for the Integral Major Maintenance (‘IGO’) of national highways in the eastern part of the Netherlands to BAM Infra Nederland. The project includes the maintenance of seven national highways, divided over two lots (west and east) with a total contract value of approximately €45 million.
In 2021 and 2022, BAM Infra will be responsible for the maintenance of the national highways A12, A15, A50, N18, A35/N35, N36 and N48. The activities include asphalt maintenance, the maintenance of viaducts, safety barriers and noise barriers. BAM will be also responsible for wildlife protection and the safe layout of shoulders.
Fred-Jan Moll, production director of BAM Infra Wegen Oost: ‘With this project we continue our fine collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat, based on the previous maintenance contract. Supported by artificial intelligence, we will update the condition data of the area. This will allow us to deliver the works without surprises during the execution phase. Together we will ensure that the roads in the east of the Netherlands are future-proof again, also by using sustainable asphalt mixtures.’
