BAM Deutschland wins contract to build hotel near the remains of the Berlin Wall
Bunnik, the Netherlands, 29 October 2015 – BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, specialising in building projects) has won a contract for the construction of a hotel in Berlin. The client is project development company Am Postbahnhof GmbH & Co. The contract value is over €15 million.
The hotel has been developed for MEININGER, an international chain of budget hotels. It will be built right next to East Side Gallery, the 1,300 meter long remnant of the Berlin Wall which was painted in 1989 by 118 artists.
The seven to ten storey hotel has 245 rooms with a total of over 800 beds. Located on the ground floor are the lobby, lounge, breakfast room and bar, as well as kitchen and game zone. The basement accommodates parking for seventeen cars plus staff accommodation.
BAM Deutschland has already started the planning and construction commences this month. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2017.
