Bunnik, the Netherlands, 11 February 2014 - Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has awarded the BAM Clough Joint Venture (BAM Clough) a design and construction contract for a fifth iron ore loading berth at its Anderson Point Facility (AP5) in Port Hedland, Western Australia.
The works include the design and construction of a 306-metre long wharf extension, seven berthing dolphins, and the supply and installation of wharf conveyor modules.
Project engineering has commenced with procurement and planning work scheduled to commence in February. Construction activities are scheduled to commence in May 2014 with project completion anticipated in early 2015.
BAM Clough is a 50/50 joint venture between BAM International and Clough Ltd. Established in 1964 the joint venture celebrates 50 years of successful project delivery in 2014.
Today BAM Clough has successfully delivered almost 15 major jetty and near shore marine projects throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea. Current projects include Chevron’s Wheatstone’s LNG Offloading Jetty, and INPEX’s Ichthys Jetty and MOF projects. ExxonMobil’s PNG LNG Jetty was recently completed.
