BAM selected to deliver new schools in the Midlands

Hemel Hempstead, 25 April 2013 - The Education Funding Agency has appointed BAM Construction Ltd as the selected panel member for the £27 million contract for the Midlands 2 capital batch (schools located in Birmingham, Derby and Nottinghamshire). More than 1,800 pupils in one primary, one secondary and two special schools will be taught in new buildings.

The schools included are:

  • Lees Brook Community School (Secondary)
  • Heathlands Primary School
  • Hallmoor School (Special)
  • Fountaindale School (Special).

Work will now progress to the planning application stage.

Keith Rayner, BAM’s education director, said: ‘This is excellent news for the creative and hard working team that put together our successful proposals for these schools. So far, BAM has a 100% track record of making the shortlist on all of the priority schools for which we have tendered, but the real test of value is in being selected and we are delighted that our designs have been chosen. BAM’s presence in the education market remains extremely strong and is supported by the collaborative ethos of our company as well as our integrated capability to design and build.’
