BAM proposes Mrs T. Menssen MBA as Executive Board member

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 15 May 2012 – The Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv will propose the appointment of Mrs T. Menssen MBA as a member of the Executive Board of the Group with effect from 1 October 2012. This proposal will be submitted to shareholders for approval at an extraordinary general meeting to be convened at Thursday 16 August 2012. Following her appointment, Thessa Menssen will succeed Jan Ruis after a few months as Chief Financial Officer, who is retiring after forty years with the Group.

After obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology and a MBA at the University of Twente, Thessa Menssen (45), joined Unilever, where her positions included that of finance director of Unilever Nederland Home and Personal Care. In 2006 she moved to Port of Rotterdam Authority, where she was CFO until 2011. Mrs Menssen is currently Chief Operating Officer at the Executive Board of Port of Rotterdam Authority.

Her other positions include memberships of the Supervisory Boards of PostNL, Vitens, Maritime Museum Rotterdam and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.

The nomination of Mrs Menssen by the Supervisory Board is in particular supported by her expertise and experience in project and risk management within an international, project-oriented company. In addition, she has considerable knowledge of the financing and management of a sizeable real estate portfolio and other (long term) investments.
