Camberley, 14 October 2011 - At the recent British Construction Industry Awards the Broadland flood alleviation project scooped the prestigious environmental award.
Ten years ago the Environment Agency awarded a twenty year contract to the BAM Nuttall / Halcrow joint venture, Broadland Environmental Services Ltd (BESL), to maintain and improve the flood defences in Broadland, East Anglia. The £118 million project is now nearing the end of the programme of improvement works and moving on to a maintenance phase.
Scotland’s Rosyth CVF infrastructure upgrade was highly commended in the civil engineering project award category for projects from £3 million to £50 million. For this project BAM Nuttall was principal contractor for the commissioning authority, Babcock Marine.
The Angel Building, Islington, London won the Judges’ Special Award, sister company, BAM Construction was principal contractor for the development working for The New River Company.
