Belgian award for CEO BAM

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 29 January 2008 - In Brussels today Joop van Oosten, chairman Executive Board of Royal BAM Group, has been invested as an officer in the Order of Leopold II by Patrick Dewael, Belgium's Home Secretary.

The Order of Leopold II was established by King Leopold II of Belgium in 1900. It is one of the three national decorations of Belgium, next to the Order of the Crown and the Order of Leopold. The Order is awarded to civilians and military for special services to the king and as a 'sign of his personal esteem'.

Royal BAM Group is with its operating companies CEI-De Meyer, Interbuild, Kaïros, Galère and - the recently acquired company - Betonac one of the most important players in the Belgian construction industry. CEO Van Oosten said to consider this award as recognition of the dedication of the approximately 2,000 employees of BAM in Belgium and their contribution to the country's built and infrastructural environment.
