Prestigious South Bank project at More London for HBG Construction

HBG Construction has been awarded the contract for Building Six at More London, the prestigious regeneration and development project at London Bridge.

Designed by Foster and Partners for developer and project manager CIT, Building Six frames the gateway to the More London development, a 13-acre site containing offices, shops, a hotel and public spaces. This eight-storey retail and office building will have a striking glass façade with a feature aluminium sunscreen on the south-eastern elevation.

HBG’s £25 million project will provide more than 14,000 sq m of office space over seven floors, with retail space on the ground floor. Work is set to start in November with completion in summer 2003.

Working with HBG Construction and Foster and Partners at More London will be EC Harris [contract administrator and quantity surveyor], Mott Green Wall [services cost consultant] and Ove Arup and Partners [structural and services engineer].

This project represents a continuation of work for the HBG Group at More London. Civil engineering firm Edmund Nuttall has recently completed a 300 metre access tunnel serving the six buildings that will occupy the site by 2005.
