(Press release ETB Education & Training Board:) Donegal, 12 May 2014 - Donegal Education and Training Board are delighted to confirm that today [Monday 12th May 2014] marks the Official Opening of the new Coláiste Ailigh School Building at Knocknamona, Letterkenny. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, T.D., will perform the Official Opening and will be the special guest at the Opening Ceremony which begins at 11:00 a.m.
Ruairí Quinn, T.D., Minister for Education and Skills announced on 12th November 2012 that eight schools were being constructed in 7 different counties under a single Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract including Coláiste Ailigh, Leitir Ceanainn.
Construction of the new Coláiste Ailigh building commenced in November 2012 at Donegal ETB’s site at Knocknamona, Letterkenny. The contractors, BAM, completed the construction of the new School in a 51 week period. The new School Building was handed over to the client for occupation on the pre-agreed date of 7th November 2013.
As part of the PPP Process, BAM FM [Facilities Management] will maintain the new School Building for a 25 year period.
The new state of the art facility of approximately 3,850m2 will cater for 350 pupils. The excellent educational facilities are complimented by hard court and grass playing areas.

Coláiste Ailigh was established in 2000. It is an All-Irish Second Level School. The School falls under the remit of Donegal Education and Training Board [formerly Co. Donegal Vocational Education Committee]
Coláiste Ailigh is one of eight schools which comprise the third PPP contract (Bundle 3) in the Department of Education and Skills Schools PPP Programme which is being procured and delivered by the National Development Finance Agency on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills.
