Interbuild wins contract for apartment buildings in Antwerp

Interbuild verwerft opdracht voor appartementengebouwen in Antwerpen

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 10 June 2016 - Interbuild nv – an operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in Flanders and Brussels for non-residential and residential projects – has won two follow-up projects for apartment buildings in Nieuw Zuid (‘New South’), a new neighborhood in Antwerp. The project value is € 36 million. The client is property company Triple Living, owner of the Nieuw Zuid site.

The contract includes a multipurpose building in two parts. Domitys features 116 care homes and common services, while Cocoon has 16 apartments. This building is designed by architects a2o of Hasselt.

Interbuild will also construct a second building, which again consists of two parts: Scheldekaai with 46 apartments and one retail space, and Zuiderflank with 24 apartments. For this project Baumschlager-Eberle acts as designing architect, Styfhals & Partners will act as executive architect. Scheldekaai will be characterised by the luxurious finish of the apartments and the view of the river Scheldt. Zuiderflank has a more intimate feel. Like other projects in Nieuw Zuid, the design is based on the passive standard and the apartment buildings are connected to a central heating network.

Interbuild has already completed several projects for developer Triple Living in Nieuw Zuid: Kaai Nieuw Zuid (77 apartments) and Campus Nieuw Zuid (147 student rooms). Three projects are still in progress: are Green Desk (office building with 7,000 sqm of parking), Zuidertuin (49 apartments) and Zuiderpromenade (29 apartments).
