Hemel Hempstead, 31 May, 2017 - The Royal Borough of Greenwich has chosen BAM Construction to build the all-through school St Mary Magdalene on the Greenwich peninsula. It will cater for up to 1,646 children from the age of three to the age of 19 and around 200 staff.
The construction costs are around £45 million. The build has commenced under a pre-contract agreement and initial enabling works have just taken place. The build will complete in the summer of 2019.
The large site spans approximately two hectares and is located at the base of Greenwich Peninsula on the corner of Millennium Way and John Harrison Way. The development includes community-use sports facilities and landscaping.
BAM Construction Director for the London Region, Andy Mason said: ‘This is a complex scheme that has required a lot of careful co-ordination and planning. The St Mary Magdalene School will generate lasting benefits for local education in the borough of Greenwich.’
