BAM wins contract for Frankfurt shopping centre

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 2 June 2016 - BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, specialising in general building projects) has won a contract to construct the Upper Zeil shopping centre in Frankfurt. The contract value for BAM is more than €44 million. The client is property investor DC Values in joint venture with RFR Holding. BAM expects to complete the project in the autumn of 2018.

Construction activities include the partial demolition of the current shopping centre Zeilgalerie, where BAM Deutschland will create a new building of seven floors with a total floor area of 14,800 sqm with shops for GALERIA Kaufhof, Vodafone and fashion group Reserved. Upper Zeil is designed by KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten.

The Zeil is a pedestrian zone in the city centre of Frankfurt. Since the end of the 19th century it has been one of the most famous and busiest shopping streets in Germany.
