Hemel Hempstead, 25 October 2016 - Jaguar Land Rover has appointed BAM Construction to deliver a new multi-storey car park on Kingsbury Road in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham. The circa 59,000 square metre structure will provide 2,764 spaces for staff and production vehicle parking. It replaces an existing surface car park. The car park will be handed over in multiple phases matching car production requirements in the adjacent facilities.
The scheme employs piled foundations with pads, with Bourne Parking providing the steel frame with concrete planks, pre-cast stair cores and cladding. Jay Roberts is the project manager for BAM having worked on many fast-tracked Midlands projects for BAM. Ridge and Partners are the architect and structural engineer. Mace is the quantity surveyor. The project is overseen for Jaguar Land Rover by AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) Construction.
BAM’s Contracts Manager Jon Kiteley said: ‘The Jaguar Land Rover brand is very prestigious so it’s a special success for the region. We’re currently working at Three Snowhill and Tata Technologies, so we have some impressive commercial partners to complement a leading education portfolio across the West Midlands.’
The scheme will complete next April.
