Bunnik, the Netherlands, 10 September 2015 – BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, specialising in building construction projects) has acquired a contract for the partial renewal of Stuttgart’s municipality hospital. The contract value exceeds € 88 million. The client is Stuttgart's city administration.
The project comprises the construction of a new main building (Building F) and a connecting hall with a total gross floor area of 41,000 m². The design by Arcass Planungsgesellschaft mbH provides for a substructure comprising four floors, which house the radiology, oncology, haematology, cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine departments, among others. Constructed transversally above this there are two building components of three floors each that house the nursing wards. The radiotherapy department’s radiation bunkers are located on one of the three basement floors.
Work will commence in January 2016 with the demolition of two buildings to make room for the new building. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
