Utrecht, the Netherlands, 23 December 2014 – The Executive Board of Greater Utrecht Authority of the Netherlands and Royal BAM Group have signed the contract for the construction of the Uithofline tram infrastructure in Utrecht. The contract value BAM is approximately € 70 million.
BAM’s E&C-contract includes the engineering and construction of the tram infrastructure, including tram tracks, overhead lines and stops. The route of the new tram line is eight kilometers long and has nine stops. BAM has been selected after evaluating the price/quality ratio on the basis of the Group’s proposals for planning (most certainty to be ready on time), community relations, quality and risk management, maintainability and longevity.
The construction works are expected to start late 2015 / early 2016. BAM will complete the project in mid-2018.
For the engineering BAM will work with the design & consultancy firm Arcadis.
