Bunnik, the Netherlands, 7 November 2014 - Interbuild nv – operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in Flanders and Brussels for non-residential and apartment projects – has won a joint venture contract for the construction of the new headoffice for AXA Belgium. The contract value is approximately €40 million, half of this is for Interbuild. The joint venture is also responsible for the coordination of the technical installations.
The project AXA-2017 includes a thorough renovation of the current three AXA offices at Troon Place in the center of Brussels. The middle building will be completely demolished and rebuilt. The different levels between the two flanking buildings are resolved with integrated ramps, stairwells and elevators. The facades will consist of a curtain wall with three layers of glass, covered with a diagonal pipe system as decoration. The base of the building is lined with stone to match the facade of the adjacent historic building.
The two outer offices are to be renovated. In the listed building at Troon Place the atrium will have a new glass dome. The building on the other side of the block is completely dismantled down to the structure and redesigned. The atrium roof will be demolished to create an open patio area.
The complex with a total surface area of 32,800 m² and 15,000 m² underground area obtains sustainability certificates Passief 2015 (almost energy neutral) and BREEAM Excellent. Construction starts this month and is expected to complete at the beginning of 2017.
