Hemel Hempstead, 16 April 2013 - BAM Construct UK has achieved its highest ranking to date in the UK’s leading and most in-depth benchmark of corporate responsibility. Business in the Community’s annual benchmark, the Corporate Responsibility Index, ranks BAM as a Platinum company.
Congratulating BAM, Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said: ‘BAM is graded as a Platinum company which means it integrates corporate responsibility into its business model and has clear CR responsibilities and incentive structures at board and operational levels. Platinum companies have a structured approach to data collection and social and environmental impact assessment and can demonstrate a number of years of CR performance improvement across key impacts, high level of transparency and stakeholder engagement.’
Within the last few weeks BAM has also been ranked the highest placed contractor by the ‘UK’s Best Companies to Work For’, and the leader of the carbon reduction table for all organisations within the UK by the Environment Agency.

For over a decade the CR Index has helped companies accurately measure and manage all aspects of companies social and environmental performance; shape how they integrate and improve corporate responsibility throughout their business operations and benchmark themselves against competitors. BAM has improved its ranking year on year since first taking part in 2007 and demonstrated significant performance improvement across both environmental and social impact areas.
The announcement coincides with Responsible Business Week (15-19 April 2013) an initiative taking place across the UK this week to raise public awareness of the powerful, positive role of business in society.
