Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau wins joint venture tunnel contract in Germany

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 5 April 2012 - Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunneling specialist of Royal BAM Group, has won a joint venture contract for the construction of a railtunnel in Bad Cannstatt. The tunnel is part of rail project Stuttgart 21. Deutsche Bahn has awarded the contract with a value of approximately €290 million to a joint venture of Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, Hochtief and Alpine. Construction of the tunnel of approximately 3.8 kilometers will be completed in 2018.
