Solihull, 18 October 2012 - BAM Properties has let nearly 9,000 sq ft of its flagship Midlands office accommodation, FORE, Solihull, to ArcelorMittal, the world’s foremost steel and mining company.
The relocation, into the top floor of FORE 2 offices in Solihull, which was also designed and built by BAM, was assisted by KWB, the Midlands leading office property specialists, which also acted on behalf of ArcelorMittal in respect of the office acquisition.
ArcelorMittal operates in 60 countries and employs about 260,000 people worldwide. It is the leading supplier of high quality steel products in major markets such as automotive, construction, household appliances and packaging. Guided by a philosophy to produce safe, sustainable steel, they strive constantly to develop cleaner steelmaking processes and bring about industry-wide improvements in sustainability, with a deep commitment to protecting and improving the environment in which they work and live.
The driving forces behind ArcelorMittal’s forthcoming relocation from their current offices in Solihull town centre are twofold:
FORE offices Solihull enable an occupational density of 1:8 sq m, 20% more efficient than other competing buildings in the area. They are the only office buildings in the M42 corridor to be rated BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and have an EPC rating of ‘B’ - their score of 39 actually performs better than the benchmark for new buildings of 55. FORE’s M&E specification is significantly more efficient than other office buildings within the area, minimising occupational running costs.
Martin Hill, Development Director of BAM Properties, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome such a high profile and substantial organisation as ArcelorMittal to kick start the occupation of this flagship office scheme in Solihull. It reinforces BAM’s reputation as an integrated developer of exceptional working environments.’

Mark Robinson, Partner of KWB office property specialists, added: ‘With the ‘green agenda’ high on their priority list, FORE offices Solihull ticked all the boxes for ArcelorMittal, with its superb sustainability credentials, high specification and highly efficient office space.’
KWB and CBRE commercial property agents act jointly for BAM Properties on the letting and sale of office space at FORE. KWB also acted on behalf of ArcelorMittal in respect of the office acquisition, conducting an exhaustive search and competitive analysis of the local M42 and Solihull office market. FORE Solihull offices demonstrated the greatest occupational efficiency and cost savings going forward.
KWB’s interior design and move management arm, KWB Workplace, has provided ArcelorMittal with space planning and design services to optimise work space, and will be project managing the procurement, fit out works and relocation process when work starts in the next few weeks.
