Joint venture STS-Tebodin wins large contract for PDO
The Hague, the Netherlands, 20 January 2011 - The joint venture of Special Technical Services (STS) and Tebodin & Partner has been awarded the Engineering and Maintenance Contract (EMC) North by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). This contract encompasses various small to medium size oil and gas projects in the North PDO concession area of Oman. The contract is awarded for a period of seven years with the option for an extension of up to three years. For Tebodin the contract involves at least 200 man year and for STS 4,500 man year annually.
The work includes all on-plot engineering, procurement services, construction, commissioning besides management services and maintenance support of all new projects and all upgrades or changes of existing projects.
Joint venture STS-Tebodin will manage the overall program. STS will contribute to the integrated functioning of the joint venture with its core competence in the areas of construction and maintenance. Tebodin with rich experience in front end and detail design and engineering will provide the required expertise. Both STS and Tebodin have a long standing business relationship with PDO. STS was involved in the previous engineering and maintenance contract, while Tebodin provides conceptual engineering and design under a framework agreement with PDO.
PDO and joint venture STS-Tebodin will work towards a fully integrated team, tools and systems to deliver common business targets.
