BAM signs covenant with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)

BAM is among 25 parties from government, the business community and knowledge institutions, which signed a covenant for a TU Delft Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CEG) renewal campaign year-end 2009. The objective is to reinforce the links between research and education, on the one hand, and societal problems concerning Delta technology, Construction & Infrastructure and Transport, on the other. Together they have made €13 million available to the renewal campaign for a period of five years. According to the parties it is very necessary to continue working on solutions to urgent problems concerning the liveability and safety of our low-lying deltas, sustainable infrastructure and mobility. During the first few months of 2010, the covenant will be converted into a university agenda per research theme: Delta technology, Transport and Civil Infrastructure.

Although, the majority of the renewal will take place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at TU Delft, the renewal campaign also focuses on Civil Engineering at the University of Twente.
