Yas Island Hotels nearing completion

Abu Dhabi, 12 May 2009 - Interbeton Abu Dhabi nv LLC has completed the first floor of guestrooms on the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Staybridge Apartments Project, Yas Island, ready for handover to Aldar Properties PJSC. The soft opening date for the Crown Plaza with 428 rooms and Staybridge Apartments with 165 apartments is July 2009.

In less than 16 months the project has risen out of the ground with more than 56,000 cubic meters of concrete, almost 10,000 tons of reinforced steel and with a total of 7 million man hours. This achievement being another step towards project developer Aldar's commitment to open the first hotels to the general public in September, with all hotels being open in time for the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 race, on 1 November.

Craig Wilson, Interbeton's commercial manager in Abu Dhabi, was quoted to say that 'this achievement is a direct result of the dedication given by the project team along with many subcontractors including Power Transmission Gulf and Depa Abu Dhabi, who have and continue to give that extra effort required to achieve what so many said was impossible.'

Interbeton is also involved in the construction of the welcome pavilion which gives entrance to the Ferrari Theme Park on Yas Island. The company is part of Royal BAM Group, a major European construction group which undertakes project worldwide. In the course of 2009 Interbeton will pursue its activities under its new name BAM International, adopting the name of its parent company.
