Bunnik, Netherlands, 29 September 2008 - Royal BAM Group is set to establish its brand across its British and Irish group companies during October 2008 and across its international group company during 2009.
The re-branding exercise forms part of the Group's previously defined strategy to reinforce the BAM brand. The operating companies in these countries are long standing members of the Group and have established leading positions in their sectors in the UK and Ireland.
In the UK for building and property HBG UK Ltd will change to BAM Construct UK Ltd. Its subsidiaries of Construction, Properties, Design, Facilities Management and Plant will also be prefixed with BAM.
In the civil engineering sector Edmund Nuttall Ltd will change its name to BAM Nuttall Ltd. Also subsidiary Ritchies (geotechnical engineering and quarrying) will be pre-fixed with BAM. Specialist divisions Hynes, John Martin and Finchpalm will continue their operations under their own names, although they will now bear the BAM Nuttall logo.
The consistent presentation of the BAM brand across over €2 billon of UK activities will emphasise to the market the financial strength of the Group and the depth of skills and resources available within it. These form a solid base for further growth in the UK market.
The UK currently provides 25 percent of Royal BAM Group's turnover and has 5,500 employees including its third operating company BAM PPP.
In Ireland, in end October, Ascon Contractors Ltd will seize the opportunity of celebrating its fiftieth anniversary of construction operations to change its name to BAM Contractors Ltd. BAM Contractors will operate in the Irish civil engineering market as BAM Civil (formerly Ascon Ltd), in the main building contracting market as BAM Building (formerly Rohcon Ltd) and Ascon Property Developments will change to BAM Property. BAM achieved an annual turnover of approximately €475 million in Ireland over 2007, and has around 1,100 Irish employees.
Outside the European home markets, BAM operating company Interbeton carries out specialist building and civil engineering projects all around the world. During 2009, Interbeton will pursue its operations under the name BAM International bv.
