Tunnel contract for BAM in Luxembourg
Bunnik, Netherlands, 25 June 2008 - Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau and Galère - both operating companies of Royal BAM Group nv - have been awarded a joint-venture contract for the construction of the Stafelter road tunnel in Luxembourg. The project value amounts to €88 million, of which 75 percent for BAM. Client is the ministry of Public Works. The construction period will be 48 months.
The Stafelter Tunnel has two tubes of nearly two kilometres length. The project is part of the Route du Nord (A7) between Luxembourg City and Mersch. Both operating companies are also involved since 2004 in the construction of the Grouft Tunnel for the A7. The Grouft Tunnel will be completed in 2009.
