£29 million college project for HBG

HBG has been appointed to the second stage negotiations for the new £29 million Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College in Birmingham. This follows the company’s successful completion of MatthewBoultonCollege, also in Birmingham.

The new college facility, to replace the existing outdated college, will comprise a crescent-shaped three-storey teaching block, hall, library, café, and a new 2,300 sq sports hall for college and community use.

HBG is currently working with the college and design team, led by Nicholas Hare LLP, to develop the design.

This project is part of HBG’s extensive education portfolio that includes school, college and university projects across the UK, both traditional contracts and PFI. Current work in the sector is valued at more than £400 million, making HBG a leading provider and operator of education facilities.
