Longmont, CO, May 2, 2005 – The Associated General Contractors of California recognized FCI Constructors for successful partnering efforts demonstrated during construction of the 7th Street Extension in downtown Sacramento, California.
“This award is a tribute to the collective efforts put forth by all parties involved to construct an extremely difficult project on time, within both the owner’s and contractor’s budget, without one claim being filed,” said Project Manager Mike Costa. “I have no doubt that the partnering process and the team it cultivated directly contributed to this achievement.”
According to the AGC, this award recognizes the team’s commitment to the principles of partnering, team building and effective communication, goal evaluation, conflict resolution, and delivery of a safe and quality project. This year’s Partnering Award identified excellence for all-sized projects completed in 2004.
FCI extended Sacramento’s 7th Street underneath operating railroad tracks, forming a new connection between downtown Sacramento and Richards Blvd. FCI added 3,500 feet to the existing 1,500 feet of grade-separated roadway.
Costa accepted the award during the AGC Constructor Awards Banquet on April 9, 2005 in Huntington Beach, CA
