Bunnik, Netherlands, 6 October 2005 – Two Belgian operating companies of Royal BAM Group – CEI and De Meyer – will be merging as per 1 January 2006 under the name of CEI – De Meyer.
The two companies have already worked together frequently on project acquisition and implementation, both in the general construction sector and on the civil engineering market. The merger will allow Royal BAM Group to operate more efficiently and decisively on the construction markets in Belgian Flanders and Brussels. The merger is not expected to result in compulsory redundancies.
The head office of CEI – De Meyer will be located in Brussels, Belgium. The company has three divisions: Civil Engineering (operating from an office in Ghent), Buildings (with offices in Brussels and Ghent) and Immo (property development). The operational management of CEI – De Meyer is in the hands of the two delegate members of the board, D. Morlion and C. Neervoort. The annual turnover of CEI – De Meyer totals approximately € 160 million. The new company has about six hundred employees.
Besides CEI – De Meyer, BAM also operates in Belgium through its operating companies Galère and Interbuild. Royal BAM Group’s turnover in Belgium amounted to more than € 466 million in 2004.
