What is claimed to be Europe’s largest purpose-built Tesco store is being constructed by BAM’s UK operating company HBG as part of a wider 39.7 million-euro project in Coventry led by its UK civil engineering sister company, Nuttall.
What HBG is providing on this extensive 32-acre site is a Tesco Extra Store with integral shopping mall and a number of additional non-food retail units. In addition, there will be a petrol filling station and parking for 1,800 cars.
Nuttall, as well as undertaking all the groundworks, the car park, access roads, earth-moving and similar activities, is also busy with retaining structures for the adjacent railway line, footbridge construction and major roadworks outside the immediate project area.
