The Hague, Netherlands, 12 July 2004 – Tebodin, Consultants & Engineers and Chinese company SMEIC have signed a 50-50% joint venture agreement to set up a new consultancy and engineering company named Tebodin Asia Pacific in Shanghai, China.
Tebodin is already working for several international clients in China, among which BMW. The joint venture gives Tebodin the opportunity to further strengthen its position in Asia and to gain access to a large number of clients in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, (petro)chemicals, consumer products and automotive markets. The expected combined turnover of the Tebodin-Smeic joint venture is approximately US$10 million in 2005.
During the official celebrations today Mr Jochum Haakma, Consul General of the Dutch consulate in Shanghai, was present to congratulate both Tebodin and SMEIC on their new partnership and to wish them well for their future activities.
SMEIC (Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Installation Company Ltd) is a construction firm with knowledge in mechanical and electrical installation works and professional experience with international clients. It has a staff of 1,700 working from several project offices and one head office, which is located in Shanghai. Tebodin Asia Pacific will operate from the office in Shanghai.
