Müller-Altvatter has started work in the centre of Berlin on the construction of a combined office and residential complex.
The long, rectangular ten-storey building with a bend in the middle is going up on Leipziger Platz. The top four floors will be given over to apartments. The building stands above the route of a metro line, and the train tunnel effectively divides the two-level basement in half. Provision is being made in the substructure for the construction of a second metro line. Müller-Altvatter is due to complete the project, which is worth 36 million euros, in August 2005.
