New office park grows at Lydiard Fields, Swindon
Swindon/London, 29 November 2004 - HBG Properties has started work on the first of half a dozen striking new office buildings due to be built on a six acre site at Lydiard Fields.
Martin Hill of HBG Properties, Peter Buchanan of HBG Construction and Jeremy Sutton of letting agents King Sturge were present at the groundbreaking, which marked the start of construction of Phase One. The first phase consists of Canberra House and Kingston House which will offer 26,985 ft² and 16,922 ft² of prime office accommodation. Work is also underway on the creation of the wide boulevards and extensive landscaping which will create a high quality working environment.
Martin Hill of HBG Properties said: ‘We are delighted to have commenced the development and are confident that the location and quality of these offices will attract interest from both national and local occupiers.’Peter Buchanan adds: ‘The two buildings will be completed by November 2005 and occupiers will soon be able to get a ‘feel’ for the space once the frames and floors have been constructed.’
In an improving office market in Swindon, agent Jeremy Sutton of King Sturge who is marketing the scheme believes the time is ripe for a high quality office park.
‘We have seen take up increase this year quarter on quarter with the year end total expected to be 100% up on 2003. With the economy predicted to strengthen next year, these properties, which are in a size that has proved popular here in the past, will be available just as demand rises.’
The six buildings will eventually offer a total of 145,454 ft² of accommodation and work will take place in three phases each consisting of two buildings. Lydiard Fields is situated adjacent to junction 16 of the M4.
