Californian Interstate widening

FCI Constructors, subsidiary of BAM’s US operating company Flatiron, has won two contracts for widening the Interstate 15, near San Diego, over a total distance of almost seven kilometres for the Californa Department of Transportation.

The road now has four lanes each way. FCI is putting in four managed lanes for peak periods. These will be opened to north or southbound vehicles depending on how heavy the traffic is. These new lanes were designed specifically for express and other buses as well as car-poolers. Single occupancy vehicles) will have to pay a toll to use these lanes.
