The centrepiece marine aquarium of the DomAquaree project in Berlin has been completed.
Müller-Altvatter, a German operating company of BAM, in partnership with the American company ICM, built this cylindrical aquarium, 25 metres tall, in the atrium of a hotel included in the project. A glass lift passes through the inner cylinder of the enormous water tank, giving visitors a marvellous view of the world beneath the waves. The aquarium contains one million litres of water. All the installations, such as pumps, filters, aeration systems and storage tank, are located along with the underground car park in the basement.
