Wayss & Freytag Schlüsselfertigbau and HBM Bau, both German operating companies of Royal BAM Group, are busy working on the design of a multifunctional ice hockey complex in Mannheim. The project comprises a large covered stadium with a capacity of up to 14,000 spectators as well as an indoor training facility. The contract is worth 75 million euros.
The training facility will have two full-sized ice hockey pitches and room for a thousand spectators. All the changing rooms, together with fitness equipment and massage facilities, are situated between the three pitches. The complex will be the home of the ice hockey club Adler (Eagles) Mannheim. The players will be able to get their skates on in their new venue in April 2005.
