Frankfurt is not short of tall buildings, but there’s always room for one more. Müller-Altvatter starts work this month on the construction of the Skyper Project. An office block towering over 150 metres is to be built immediately behind one of the city’s listed buildings. The tower will have 42 floors, including basement parking on three levels. For those not keen on stairs there will be seven lifts, three of them serving the parking garage.
The main entrance will be in the historical building fronting the street, which will be linked to the modern tower block by a glazed foyer. The project, which is being built on behalf of ABG, also has a lower wing just six floors high, with underground parking for 200 cars. This part of the building will be for both commercial and residential occupation. Completion date is December 2004. The contract is worth €117 million.
