Wayss & Freytag Schlüsselfertigbau is currently working on the renovation of more than a thousand flats in Nuremberg. The majority of these homes, in the St. Johannis District, were built between 1926 and 1932.
The improvement programme includes replacing windows, rewiring and new plumbing etc., as well as new heating systems. The walls and roofs are being insulated. The roofs are being retiled and the exterior rendering is being redone. When the renovation is complete, the residents will also have the benefit of a balcony. The project, which is being executed on a consortium basis, is due for completion in 2004. The total contract value is almost €30 million.
