The Malaysian Ministry of Transport has awarded Ballast Ham Dredging and its Malaysian joint venture partner Integrated Marine Works [IMW] the contract for the execution of the dredging works for the second phase of the container terminal in the port of Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia.
The port of Tanjung Pelepas is situated in the south of the Malaysian peninsula, on the Straits of Malacca, one of the busiest shipping routes in the world. The container terminal will offer space to eight container carriers. The total dredging contract value amounts to €265 million. The execution of the project starts immediately and is scheduled for completion in July 2004.
