Frankfurt-based energy utility Mainova is getting more than just a roof over its head. HBG’s group company Wayss & Freytag Schlüsselfertigbau is constructing an entirely new building in the city for the company. The industrial design of the building is perfectly in tune with its multifunctional character.
Mainova supplies Frankfurt and district with gas, water and heat, via the district heating system. The group was recently created by the merger of two energy companies. All the activities are now being concentrated at the location of one of the merger partners. A major investment programme includes the demolition of old buildings to make room for new-build projects.
Wayss & Freytag Schlüsselfertigbau is putting up a rectangular building measuring sixty by thirty metres. At one end of the building is a circular control centre, referred to as Rotonda. The ground floor will be occupied by workshops. The project, with a contract value of €11 million, will be completed in February 2003.
